Prayer is one of the main pillars of Islam, so the issues related to it are explained in detail in the books of jurisprudence under the “book of Ṣalat”. In which numerous issues and their details are discussed. For example, thousands of issues such as purification, adhān, prayers, funeral prayers, Taraweeh prayers etc. are explained. While Ibn Taymiyyah differs from many scholars in other jurisprudential issues, he also takes different positions in discussions related to prayers. For example, the Qaḍā of prayers cannot be performed; the answer to the call to prayer can be given even in the state of prayers, the issue of eight Tarawīḥ and the limitation of distance for short prayers. In the same way, there are differences in matters related to funeral prayers, for example, if the funeral prayer of the deceased has been performed, his prayers will not be offered in absentia, and it is not permissible for the Holy Prophetﷺ to offer good deeds. In the present article, it is intended to explain the issues in which Ibn Taymiyyah has taken a different position and the arguments based on which he has established it, to know the jurisprudential differences of Ibn Taymiyyah and the arguments behind these differences. From them, the jurisprudential insight and position of the Imam could be assessed.
