Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Authors will be required to guarantee that the same manuscript or similar version has not been submitted to any other journal or publication. If the author wishes to send the article elsewhere before the editor of the Al-Amīr has acted on its acceptance, the author should withdraw the article from consideration by Al-Amīr.

  1. Articles can be submitted in Arabic, English and Urdu and should be not exceed 15-20 pages of typescript. All submissions must include a 150-200 word abstract. Articles must have an appropriate title and a number of sections. The first section should include the purpose of the article and methods of the study, the last section should include a summary and conclusions.
  2. Full name(s) of author(s) must be listed, along with University of professional affiliation, address, phone number (s) and e-mail address. Provide a two-three sentence biography that can be used in your article current information only.
  3. A manuscript must be double spaced, with page numbers consecutively and references (including full biographical notes) placed as endnotes to the text.
  4. Chicago Manual Style should be followed while referencing.
  5. Arabic words should be transliterated according to the style of Islamic Studies Research Journal Islamabad.
