The contemporary world is grappling with profound socio-economic crises, including widening wealth inequality, social fragmentation, and the limitations of purely materialistic models of human development. In response to these modern challenges, this study examines the Islamic paradigm of human well-being (Falah) and its contemporary relevance. Unlike conventional welfare frameworks that evaluate human prosperity solely through material and economic metrics, the Qur’anic worldview and the practical model of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ articulate a holistic, multidimensional concept of well-being that seamlessly integrates spiritual integrity, moral development, social justice, economic security, and human dignity. Employing a qualitative, thematic, and analytical methodology, this research synthesizes primary textual evidence from the Qur’an and authentic Hadith corpora alongside classical Seerah literature and contemporary Islamic thought. The study demonstrates that the Islamic welfare model bridges the gap between individual spiritual growth and collective socio-economic justice through institutional mechanisms such as Zakat, Infaq, equitable wealth distribution, and ethical stewardship (Khilafah). The analysis reveals how the Prophetic model operationalized these foundational principles to establish a balanced and resilient society. The study concludes that the Qur’anic and Prophetic framework offers a transformative, human-centric model that directly addresses the structural flaws of modern welfare systems, providing actionable insights for sustainable development, social solidarity, and ethical governance in the contemporary era.
